Early days

Daddy and the helper went home a month ago and we keep extending our trip, staying in Balmain, moving to the beat of village life. I can’t give you as much attention as I would like with Matilda needing lots of love and attention, but we are doing ok. You never cry except for when you wake up and I am off doing something, and you’re trying to let me know. Hey mummy!! I need you! Come back!

You have stayed my little truffle piglet. We go everywhere and do everything together.  I have 4 months off work and we have spent it in east Balmain, finding dance, taekwondo, yoga, art classes for Matilda. When she is in class you and I hang out and feed. I make sure we have 1 to 1 time each day, but it’s not as much as I would like.

At night Grandma holds you and reads to Matilda while I prepare dinner, and again after dinner. 

Then we all go to bed at 8-830 and you sleep cuddling me and feeding. 

It’s a peaceful time and I would love to extend it. It is completely different to my maternity leave with Matilda where I was very sick, and hopefully it will set you up in good stead for the years ahead?

I don’t know if I tell you I love you as much as I tell Matilda, but I’m able to show it this time. Our days are a living amends to Daddy, Matilda and my own mum.  I couldn’t be happier. I wanted you so badly and I had to get better before we could bring you into the world. I am so happy you’re here.
