Semantics

Semantics

He was my friend for a while before he was a lover.

A lover? I wouldn’t call that guy a lover.

Why not, we had a dalliance, we met a few times, spent a few nights in places you could never go during the day, metaphorically speaking.

He was a predator. A lover is an equal. He could see you were sick, anyone could see you were sick from a mile away, That makes him a predator. I had never thought of it like that and my brow furrows.

I don’t think it was that obvious. I think I put on a good show. I think for a minute and try to think back, it was years and years ago now. But that last one should have known. It was plain as day I didn’t know up from down. They said my body was covered in cuts and bruises.
