Awake Dream

I had an awake dream about you
It  was as hazy
as its nocturnal companions &
distant lacubrations
suspended, fleeting

I felt you behind me in the afternoon sun
warm skin of your back, tip of
your nose facing up to the sky
Your hair was fluffy
and just like that you were gone

a car horn sounds
I crossed the road
[a determined, sylph like pace]
and saw the place
where we had coffee
that day, you touched my face, it was wet from light rain and glee
little flashes, as salient as they
are brief, some
come
with a story..
some just a bitter sweet patina attached to a moment

and perhaps is all chicanery of the forgettery
but I was sure it was real
in that moment
a memory of a memory
but you are real
says the gentle undulations of his breath from the bedroom
